Many of the team members have expressed they feel “naked” or desperate without having equipped themselves with Bible tracts for the days plannings.  Christ calls us, “to be prepared in and out of season to be prepared to give the reason of eternal life.”  The ??? is.  What’s in YOUR wallet?  Plastic? Paper? Gold? or a Bible Tract?  If you have not one or many, what does your day consist of?

We trust and pray that God is working in you to be the Supernatural  person you have the right to be.  It has been exciting to see the hand of God working, rather than just working at the world’s pace.  There is such a struggle going on within the hearts of many Christians here in the USA and especially in Japan.  They believe in the awesome miracles God performed in the Bible.  They believe in the miracles that were manifested by Christ. Yet they struggle to believe that God will work a miracle on their behalf.  It is our prayer that you will come to Japan (the largest UnReached Peoples in the World), and bring the hope and power of Christ to a hopeless people who are surrounded by idols, suicide (over 500,000 attempts last year), and business.  Instead of reading the Book of Acts for the umpteen time come bring the Book of Acts to Japan and ACT out the Book.  Most people don’t realize the whole New Testament is a Missions Manual. Please pray support and plan to come on the trips going out: TEAM I    May-23-June 2.

Evidence that Faith Leads to Revival

Great Evidences of faith that led to revivals:

  1. The Book of Acts.  The Church was meeting daily in constant prayer
  2. Moravian Church 1727 Germany 12 men and 12 women committed to 24 hr Unceasing prayer   Over 100 years it was continued,,,,without interruption.  The small group of Moravians nearly turned over the World for Christ.
  3. 1857 Fulton Street NY City  Noontime Prayer Meeting.  A local minister asked one of his businessmen to start a noontime prayer meeting for he alone could not see the church budging.  Jeremiah Lamphier then made a Prayer Meeting Leaplet and passed it out to local businesses.  At first out of 1 million people living in NY city only 4 showed up    Within months people were running to the meeting closing up their shops during lunchtime. Other major cities were duplicating the Noontime Prayer Meeting.  It is estimated that 3% of America’s population turned to Christ that year!  This in turn influenced the Welsh Revivals
  4. Wales Revival Evan Roberts 1904.  Because of the fervent prayer of a few, God increased His fold to 100,000 Welsh souls for the Kingdom of God.  Prayer Revival and Missions go hand in hand  This Revival torched a flame in Azusa, California  during 1906.   It swept into China, North Korea and elsewhere.
  5. New Hebrides Lewis Islands Scotland 1949-1952  Rev. Duncan Campbell experienced day and night intercessory prayer.  “Our churches are made up of old people.  Where are the youth?”  Two elderly sisters committed to prayer and fasting day and night.  The Lord revealed to them, “I am going to bring MY Holy Spirit fire”  God gripped the nation where thousands turned to the Lord and also went around the globe to spread the FIRE.

Parable of the Dishonest Manager

The parables of Jesus are interesting stories and analogies of life that are used to illustrate important spiritual truths. Most people have heard of the “Parable of the Good Samaritan” that illustrates how we are to love others, and the “Parable of the Prodigal Son” which teaches how God rejoices when sinners return to God in repentance. A lesser known parable which is both unusual, but very practical, is the “Parable of the Dishonest Manager” recorded in Luke 16:1-13.

In this parable there is a property manager, also called a steward, of a rich man’s estate. The rich man learns that the steward has been wasting his possessions and so he informs the property manager that he is going to fire him and demands an accounting of the books he’s kept. Immediately the steward thinks of a scheme to ingratiate himself among a couple of the master’s debtors so that they will likely take him in for a period of time after he loses his employment. To a debtor who owes the master 100 measures of oil, the property manager reduces the debt to 50 measures; and to a debtor who owes the master 100 measures of wheat, the property manager reduces the debt to 80 measures. When the steward presents the accounts to the master, the master commends the dishonest manager for his shrewdness.

Jesus comments that the people of the world are typically shrewder in dealing with others to get what they want then are the people of His kingdom. Jesus does not commend what the dishonest manager did, but makes a practical application. Just like the dishonest manager used money to make friends for himself, it’s possible for believers to use money to make friends for themselves in heaven. Jesus states that when one dies their monetary wealth of is of no value unless they had used it to invest in evangelistic ministry that brought people to heaven. Then those saved from these evangelistic or missions ministries will await and greet you as a friend in heaven. This is so practical! In our charitable giving, are we investing in ministries that will bring people to salvation and heaven?

Jesus goes on to say that how one uses their money demonstrates whether they are trustworthy and faithful in the possessions God has given them. Jesus asks us to place ourselves into this parable! He is the rich master and we are the steward of his possessions. Are we good stewards managing God’s resources wisely, or are we foolishly squandering what God’s given us just as the dishonest manager did?

Jesus then concludes the parable with a statement He also made in the Sermon on the Mount; and that is that we cannot serve both God and money, only one can have our true allegiance. As also stated in Matthew chapter six, God and His kingdom is to be our top priority; so we need to regularly evaluate our lives to make sure this is so.

Jesus Changes Hearts and Minds

A few days ago I was speaking with brother Dave. I shared with him my deep thoughts on Japan. I informed him about my thoughts and feeling when he asked me to help support missions to Japan or go on a mission with him. I informed him that the first thing that crossed my mind was, Japan is one of the richest countries in the world “they can take care of themselves”, then I thought of what they did during WWII and thought, of all the people in the world, they would be the last I would probably care about, so many others deserve it more then them!

Then Dave said “We have all fallen short, every person and every NATION all throughout time!”  I thought that was true… so I decided to help!!! Lots of time has gone by since then, and I have learned some very good things and some sad things about Japan – suicide rates, lack of self worth(especially in the youth), not to mention a massive earthquake, etc… My heart and mind has changed through Christ, and now I see Japanese people as potential brothers and sisters like every one else! I feel deeply for them and pray for them to find the love and peace of Christ!!!

AMAZING HOW THE LORD CAN CHANGE US!!!

*In America we spent two years of our life following the Greatful Dead Band to 67 different concerts.  We were “Deadheads”, doing a lot of drugs and getting into trouble.  One day in a Gas Station bathroom floor I picked up an interesting paper.  I took it to my friends and we all began to read it.  It was a “Bible Tract.”  This was my wake up call!  In a couple of months my lifestyle was changed, and I took my first steps with Christ, all because of a discarded “Bible Tract.”    Steven Kennedy  USA
*On our short-term trips with SMI we have the opportunity to hand out or post “Bible tracts”to close to 3,000 people in almost two weeks.  One particular time at a Mall I was putting Bible tracts under the window wipers of all the cars in the mall.  I suddenly saw a woman take the Bible Tract off her windshield and sat in her car reading it.  She never saw me, but I was able to see her finish reading the tract and then prayed to Jesus for salvation!

*”May I talk with you after the service?” an elderly Japanese woman asked Rev. David Spurdle.  “I liked your sermon on witnessing and the great ideas of using “Bible Tracts.”  When I was young girl walking on the beach here in Kangawa ken a man gave me a “Bible Tract”  I read through it all.  It was the first time I had heard the message of a Savior named “Jesus.”  I talked to Jesus, telling him I was sorry and asked Him into my life on the beach. Later that week i went to a Christian meeting and I did not know it at the time, but my future husband also attended the meeting.
After we married we decided to invite children to our home.  Then our meetings included the parents, which caused us to gut the downstairs of our home and made it into a church hall.  We live upstairs.  This all happened because i received a “Bible Tract” on the beach many years ago.     Mrs Tanabe  Japan
*Excuse me, are you saved?”  “If you were to die tonight, are you certain that you would go to Heaven?”  the old preacher interrupted the pedestrians.
“For close to forty years I have been asking the same question to at least eight people a day on George St.  Then I hand them a “Bible Tract.”  “Most people receive the “Bible Tracts,” but some don’t.”  “In all my years I have yet to see anyone on the spot turn to Christ in prayer.”  Just before the old street preacher on George St. passed away, people around the world shared  how they turned to Christ through the “unexpected encounter” with the “White haired man on George St”  Famous preachers, teachers,politicians, military personel, tourists began to account for their coversions to Christ through simple question they received followed up by the “Bible Tract.”
It has been estimated that the “old white haired man handed out over 146,000 “Bible Tracts”  Close to 10,000 testimonies of people receiving Christ through the encounter with the preacher have been testified by people all around the World.  All because the old man, Frank Jenner on George St. obeyed His masters command “‘to preach the Good News, in and out of season.”
He never saw one piece of fruit, yet in heaven what a party he will attend.  How many Bible Tracts have you given out?  Who will challenge Frank Jenners record?
