Delivered from Death

This November, I received a phone call about the man "Al" who was expected to die in the emergency ward in Charlotte, NC after being hit head on by a high pressurized steel cylinder.  Believe it or not the man was discharged that day!   The doctors said it was a miracle.  17 fractures to the skull, a nose gone, an eye gone and his face indented, plus a piece of shrapnel that flew at estimated speed of 600 mph through the safety windows and went through his neck, just missing the main blood artery.  Wow.  That's why we have 24 hr prayer.  I have never met the man but the man has met Jesus.  20 yrs ago he gave his life to Christ.  Walking away, he got a rude awakening.  May he use the rest of his life sharing what Jesus did for him.  He is not out of the woods yet.  Thank you for praying.

Praise Report January 2011

Dear Friends and loved ones,

I am writing to you to let you know about the miracle that God performed for me by the hands of our friend David Spurdle who as you know is a missionary to Japan.  I was having to use a walker, and an electric wheel chair, and the pain was almost unbearable.  After David laid hands on me at church, God healed me instantly. Praise and Glory and honor to our Lord God Almighty!
It has been six weeks since God healed me, and there is still no pain at all.  I don’t use a walker or a cane and now I am praying for other’s in the name of Jesus. “Thank you Jesus, Hallalluia.  I can’t stop praising Him for what He has done for me.
I want to thank you, all those who support David with prayer and support.  I know that when His people pray, “nothing is impossible.”  I hope I can get the chance to go and share in Japan what Jesus has done for me.
With all my love amd prayers

Dear supporting friends of SMI,
I saw a man praying with a man in a store and asked one of the owners what was going on? the owner exclaimed that the man praying was a missionary to Japan.  I thought to myself, “That guy is bold.”   “He’s got something I want.”  A couple of months later I met the missionary again.  He led me to Christ and told me he had to go East to do deputation in churches.  I made out a check for the mission he works for and asked him to pray for my sister.  She had cancer, and this was the last week  I expected her to live.
He  prayed and called me from the East Coast,  “How’s your sister?”  I could not wait to reply.  “She is completely healed.” I declared joyfully.
When the missionary Rev. David Spurdle is in town he meets with 5 other men at Starbox,  Temecula (Old Town),  CA.  that have given their lives to Christ and are bent on learning to be souls winners for Christ.  Hope to see the missionary this Friday.  Hope you meet him too.

My family met the missionary team from the USA at the laundry store.  One of the missionaries asked me,  “If I died tonight would I be certain to go to Heaven?”  I was shocked to hear this.  My husband and I invited the team of five people to our home where they prayed for our disease, and for our whole family to be saved.  When they left, I was healed along with our child.  Next week I am going to the Tochigi Church in Tochigi, Japan. I hear that you support them to come to Japan.”   “Thank you.”

Adam’s Prayer Reaches NY Prison

Testimony: Not to long ago, Dave, Chuck, and Jackie went to visit my son in prison.  My son had written many many Christians asking if someone would come and visit him.  He has been without a Pastor for several years now, and he has been without someone to fellowship with; the majority of those he had written to never responded back, and out of the many letters, my son has had only 3 Christian men visit him since 2007.

My son Adam, has had such a burden for Central New York for sometime now, and he has used this time to continue to fast and pray for this region.  Adam, however was growing weary from being so alone and  battling every day the painful battles of the mind  of “no one loves you Adam……no one wants you…….not even God wants you…….”  Daily he kept pressing in prayer for this region nevertheless. When Dave, Chuck, and Jackie went to visit Adam, there already was a lot of other prisoners who were watching Adam’s life, and could hear him praying throughout the night.  What was so miraculous was Adam expected the usual maybe one hour visit, but instead they stayed all day, and then prayed for Adam…….. And witnessed to Correction Officers!  Adam was so encouraged that God sent not just any visitor but a visitor who is visible evidence that God hears the cries of His people and for Central New York!  As a result, many prisoners lives have been touch for Christ; and some prisoners are now taking Bible Courses and getting training so when they are released they can go back to their areas and win souls for Christ.

” I want to just bake bread and make some good homemade soup, and then take the food to where there are homeless people that no one even knows about.  Just give them some good food and love them, and share Jesus with them; they will listen I think to me because I was them!” said one  prisoner who committed his life to Christ.

Even more incredible, Adam was supposed to go to Japan in his freshman year in high school, but his appendics burst and he could not go.  Japan has been apart of his prayer life ever since!

Things for Adam and us do not always go well, in fact there are days where God’s grace alone gets us through another day, but interceding for this region for many years and now being able to be apart of God’s revival for this region is beyond beyond amazing!  No matter what all of us have and are going through……….. each SOUL  is worth all that we have and are!   Amazing results…….we standfirm………and never give up……… no matter how many times we might be  Knocked down or dragged around……. WE NEVER GIVE UP….. BECAUSE JESUS IS OUR SOURCE AND LIFE!!!!    More so….We ARE  the LIGHT of the world …and we are Gonna Shine!     Thanks Dave…Chuck….Jackie for touching our lives and keeping coals of our hearts burning with Hot Passion for Jesus and for SOULS!   Blessings and Increase  and Victory without end!  Amen!

Forever Love,

Healed of a Brain Tumor- Intercessory Prayer

One day after preaching and feeling the Spirit moving, a Japanese man and his wife plus his two children came up for prayer.  “So how are you?”  I asked.

He answered, “David, I am 36 yrs old and the doctors explained to me that I have a ‘brain tumor” that is inoperable.”

Man was I bummed, Why?  Because I knew this would take the real work of intercessory prayer, not just some prayer for healing at the alter up front at the church.  Messages are easy to preach, doing them is hard!  I told him, “My wife and I  are going to pray on this one tonight.”  I replied to the distressed dad.   That night I prayed for clarity but I did not get an answer.  My wife went to prayer and the Lord spoke to her,  ” I will go to the man and heal him.”  She woke me up and shared that the Lord would indeed heal the man and then the Lord said,   “All of the church will pray constantly.

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”  I Thess. 5:16-18

So around midnight I woke up an elder, and told them to get the church mobilized for a battle.  We will create a 24 hr UnCeassing Prayer list.  The Elder complained by reminding me we were a small group and it was midnight.  I replied,  God is big and yes we are small.  I will let the 1000+ people back in the States to pray for this miracle to happen.  We need to set it up now.  “If this man was your child, how would you respond to raising up people to pray for a miracle?  Would you wait?  To make a long story short, for days and months we travailed in prayer.  People even threatened me saying, “If God doesn’t answer this prayer your name will be mud.”  I just replied, “Just Believe!”  After months of prayer, the man along with his wife came to the church one Sunday.  I put a side my sermon and had him come up and share.  I had no clue as to what he would say.  My family want to say thank you for praying for me.  I spent three days of tests in one of the top hospitals in Japan.  The doctor’s could not explain the change but there seems to be no tumor in my brain.  I am completely healed!  The Doctors explained that it was the first case of a miracle they had seen.”  Praise God!
God is willing at all times to bring a touch into your life, You just have to believe.  After this “boot camp in prayer” God has wrought many incrediable miracles such as many cancer victims, gall stones, teeth, bones and a feww cases of people being raised to death.
In reality, “these signs and wonders SHOULD be the norm for you and I to see.  “We have not because we ask not.”  Or because we have sin in the camp, we aren”t able to see victory.  We just become a “Achan” people
The Moravian Church in Saxony Germany used to fight with each other over “theology”
Once 12 men and 12 women pledged to pray an 1 hr. time slot each day, God used this church in one of the mightiest ways in church history.  They reached around the World with the Gospel and this was in the mid 18th Century.  Their”Prayer Watch” lasted for over 100 years, uninterrupted.  Can we do the same?

Healed of Arthritis, Scoliosis, and Fibromyalgia!

In October 2004, I was diagnosed with debilitating arthritis of the spine and Scoliosis.  I had three vertebras in my neck which were almost fused together.  The doctor told me

I would end up in a wheelchair with partial paralysis

Then it got worse!  Shortly after that, I found out I had systemic Candida and Thrush which turned into another debilitating disease;  Fibromyalgia and Myofacial Fibromyalgia.  It attacks the immune system.  My liver, kidneys, spleen and pancreas were completely shot.  Doctors tell us there is no cure for it, and you just have to live with it.  Every part of my body was in excruciating PAIN and there was never any relief from it all.

During this time I studied and used different natural remedies that helped but still I was in a dangerous state of health.  I was prayed for many times in our Bible study groups which helped but I was still, a long ways a way from complete healing from God.

I then met David Spurdle at our church who at the time was taking some members on a mission trip to Japan, which was Sept. 2008.  I wanted to go but could not join them.  As they were on their trip, the Lord told me to fast and pray for them on the same Wed. as they were in Japan.    As I was praying for them, the Lord, in an instant; completely healed me of all my stuff.  I actually felt it lift off of me and now I am back to living life, running and exercising the way I used to.

Through all of this, my faith was tested and strengthened, I gained wisdom, knowledge and understanding, saw the power of prayer and most of all I have a deeper relationship with the Lord Jesus.  To God be the glory for all the ways He chose to heal and restore my body and life!

Caleb Healed from Burn!

March 3, 2011: Caleb, 6 yrs. old,  was burned in a recent accident over 40% of his body at Ft. Stuart Base, GA.  His face was burned severely.  He needs a miracle from God’s touch.

Update: March 20, 2011: We have awesome news about Caleb, the little boy that was burned so badly.  He is home and outside playing on his scooter with his friends and brothers.  He has NO SCARS on his face.  What a mighty and faithful God we have.

Salvations in Japan!

“People are searching , longing for something and jesus is exactly what they need.  It was amazing and humbling to be used by the Lord, to share the message of hope with those who don’t yet know even Christ’s name.
I will remember standing at Ueno Train Station in Tokyo, while waves of people coming and going past me by the hundreds every minute.  I handed out hundreds of Bible tracts.  Some received them, others declined respectfully.   I know of 12 people who personally prayed to receive Jesus.  I am very thankful that SMI
gave me the chance to receive a scholarship through a special donor.  With out it, I wouldn’t have the opportunity to go.  Hope to come back to Japan.”
Andrea D.

“The mission trip to Japan has given me God’s heart and love for the Japanese people, and a greater understanding of their desperate state without Jesus Christ.  I now have a world mind-set and a passion to reach as many people as possible with the Gospel.  I long to come back to help reach the UnReached, and will continue to support Japan with my monthly support so that other’s can constantly be in Japan doing evangelism, discipling, and planting new churches where none exist.”
Chuck S

“These eleven days in Japan proved to be very worthwhile vacation with Jesus, truly opening my eyes to the things intended for us by Him.  My weakness were able to shine, and I was taken out of my comfort zone.  Maybe my cousin can accompany me on another trip to Japan.  Thank you SMI.”
Jonathan  C  “This is my fourth trip to Japan.  Every year I look forward to this trip each year. Not only have I been able to reach close to 12,000 Japanese for Christ but have seen God do numerous miracles.  I injured my knee seriously and the team while praying for another person, prayed for me at the same time.   I was instantly healed! No more pain in my knee, and I was able to bend it without any pain at all.  It was the first time I experienced something like this.  This year I will be quitting my job as a computer engineer and will join SM International as a “full-time” missionary.”  The trip was awesome!”

Burma Kids

Our goal has been to raise up a team every year from Japan and N.America to go for at least 11 days or more to help and assist the various orphanages and newly established  70 acre Bible School near Myitkyina, Myanmar.  Many of the children live on just one meal a

day.  Most people have not one Bible, yet many are very hungry for the Word of God.  We bring Bibles, Support, Theological training, building volunteer groups/ and outreach teams to help train equip and encourage the work.  Many of the kids that graduate from the school “go out” to the borders of China/India/Myanmar and plant the first “house churches” in “UnReached Areas”

BURMA/MYANMAR PLIGHT:  “Children are those suffer most in war”

As you and I in N. America race from the restaurant in our cars with appetites fully satisfied, around the World in Burma Myanmar a young child under six years old sits atop a huge brick pile breaking bricks into little piles so that he can bring a few cents home for the week to help support the family.  The young child you find out is a cousin by relation.  His parents are dead due to the civil war. Average income:  $25 month per family

“What are we to do?”

 slave_labor

Over 25,000 orphaned children scrap to survive in northern Myanmar?Burma.  There parents are either dead or are slowly induced by drugs into death.  Burma has known only war since 1948.   This country is the oldest on-going war in the entire world.  There is suppose to be a “cease fire” yet 160,000 people fled to Thailand.  Continual war has eradicated about 175,000 children each year.  Over 10% of all children suffer severe malnutrition in families.  36% of the population in the country is under 15 years old.  Many children are orphaned, abandoned, trafficked, exploited in the labor force, jailed, used in drug running.  The cause is war.  A military regime is in power that has been rated along side Germanys regime in the 1930-40’s.

“Does it move you?”

“COMPASSION IS NOT SOMETHING YOU FEEL,IT’S SOMETHING YOU DO.”

“Pure religion in which our Father accepts is this; to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.” James 1:27

A middle aged pastor in one of the villages explained that he was not able to give each of his kids a Bible.  “They cost around $25 each.”  “They are the same ones used that your relative Adoniram Judson  translated in the early 1800’s.  Either I use my income of $25 to feed my family and two orphaned children, or buy a Bible and see my family starve to death.”  I then thought of all the Bibles I had in my own home.
Today every trip we bring in Bibles.

“Man shall not live on bread alone but by every Word that proceeds from the mouth of God.”

Testimonials

Read what some who have gone have to say.  Short-term missionaries have gone to Japan from Arizona, California, Virginia, Vancouver, BC, Canada, Ohio, Maine, and a number of other places.  You too can go.  Read on.

I had always wanted to go on a mission trip. Several years have passed since I first told myself I wanted to go. And, now, I was signed up to go to Japan.  Tickets had been purchased and departure was only a couple of weeks away.  Suddenly I had developed mixed emotions – I wanted to go, but I was beginning to get “cold feet.”

I found myself asking such questions (of myself), “How could one person have any kind of an impact on complete strangers who live halfway around the world? We wouldn’t even be able to understand one another’s language. However, I overcame my fears and within a few days after arriving in Japan, I got my answers.

David Spurdle and Kevin and Nozomi West, the missionaries I was to work with, my co-missionary, Jack Sombrio, and I were invited by a Mr. Fukuda san and his wife Mieko and their son, Jun, to eat an authentic Japanese meal with them at a local restaurant. Dinner was enjoyable and the conversation was interesting. As we were leaving the restaurant, David told Jack and me that the Fukuda family asked if all of us would come to their home that evening and pray for their oldest son, whom we found out had just recently committed suicide.

This request brought a twinge of inadequacy in me as I had never been asked to do anything like that before. After all, I had just met these people and I had never met their departed son.

It seemed to me that this family was looking for some type of closure to this tragic event and they thought we could help them accomplish this. I didn’t want to disappoint them, so while David maneuvered the car through the narrow, rain slick streets, I prayed. I asked the Lord to give me the right words to say that would make this family feel better and to help them understand the full depth of His love for them.

David shared with us that he had tried to reach this young man with God’s Word on several occasions, but that when he would knock on his bedroom door, let’s say that he was less than hospitable. David continued that he did not know if the son had found Christ before he died as he had not indicated it to anyone in his family.

We arrived at their home and shortly found ourselves in his bedroom, a very small room in which we all had to squeeze together for everyone to get in. His parents had put a small table in one corner and placed a very nice picture of him wearing a suit and tie. He was a very good-looking young man.  On the table they had placed some flowers and some of his favorite snack items and his favorite CDs.

We all took turns praying, Kevin played softly on his guitar, and we then sang a song. In a little while we said good night to the Fukuda family, they thanked us, and we stepped out into the dark, rainy night.  As we drove back to our local home I felt good about the experience we had just had. On the other hand, I wondered if we had really reached the family and eased their pain for it was difficult to read the expressions on their faces.

A couple of days later, we were at J-Lodge for a  “Wonderful Night Party” and we were cooking a big pot of chili to enjoy together with the young people that evening. I stepped outside for some fresh air when Mieko Fukuda came around the corner of the building. As soon as she saw me, she began jumping up and down and she had the biggest smile on her face. She was so excited and her excitement raised my own level of excitement as I was eager to find out why she seemed so excited!

She began to tell me that she and her family were so happy and grateful to us for coming to her home to pray with them. She wanted me to have a small gift she had brought. I was so happy for her that I began to cry. I understood better now that the Lord had given us the opportunity to bless these new believers. In so giving of ourselves, we too were greatly blessed.

The next Sunday at Chigasaki Church, I was sitting a couple of rows to the right side just behind the Fukuda family. Mr. Fukuda had not yet given his life to Christ. While the congregation sang, I noticed Mr. Fukuda sitting with his hands folded, his eyes closed, and his head bowed. I thought to myself, he is praying. I stopped singing and began to pray that the Lord would send the Holy Spirit to him that he might give his life to Christ that day.

After we returned home to the U.S., Dave Spurdle called to give me an update on some of the results that had occurred since we had come home. He said that the entire Fukuda family gave their lives to Christ shortly after we left Japan. I feel so blessed to have been able to go and be a part in this family’s decision to come to Jesus Christ. There is still much work to do in Japan, and I want to go again, for the rewards are so great!  Will you also answer the call?
